Venue
The conference will be hosted by the University of Turin and the University of Aosta Valley and will take place in Turin and Bard.
Please note: the weather in Northern Italy is being uncommonly unstable this summer. Make sure that you are equipped both for rainy, not very hot days (highest temperature 20-23° C) and for sunny, hot days (highest temperature around 30° C).
Turin
The conference will take place in rooms located in the basement of Piazzale Aldo Moro, right next to Palazzo Nuovo, headquarters of the Humanities Department of the University of Turin. In the immediate vicinity is Via Po, the main street that leads from Piazza Castello (Castle Square) to the River Po. It is a very lively, young neighbourhood: in the cross streets of Via Po you will find several places to eat, drink and go out.
How to find the conference rooms
Starting point: at the intersection of Via Verdi and Via S. Ottavio. The big 1960s building "Palazzo Nuovo" is on your left. On the right you see stairs leading downwards.
Auditorium Aldo Moro (July 3 and 6): go downwards, turn right and go straightforward (past a supermarket on your left) until you reach glass doors. Pass through the doors: you are in the foyer of Auditorium Aldo Moro., where you can also find the conference desk.
Rooms S4 and S8 (July 3, 4, 6): go downwards, turn left and go straightforward. Rooms S4 and S8 are on your right.
Aula Aldo Moro 2, Palazzo Aldo Moro (July 4): do not go downwards, turn around the bannister and enter Piazzale Aldo Moro. The building you are searching is on the left side at the end of a pedestrian cul-de-sac. On the glass building you see "INGRESSO Entrance" written in white letters. Enter the building, Aula Aldo Moro 2 is on the second floor. If you canot find the room, you can ask the people in the ward at the entrance, right on the left side.
Fort Bard
Fort Bard is s a fortified complex built in the 19th century by the House of Savoy on a rocky prominence above Bard, a small town in Aosta Valley. The Fort is the venue of the third day of the conference, July 5th.
Transfer from Turin and back is arranged by the conference organization: participants are requested to gather at the meeting point in Piazza Vittorio Veneto on July 5th at 08:45 a.m. We are leaving Turin at 9:00 a.m. The coach company is named "Giachino". If you stand on the Piazza with the river Po and the Gran Madre church in front of you, the bus will stop on the right side.
